The Pleasant Valley Band was established in January of 1983 at the newly formed Pleasant Valley High School.  Since the bands inception, a proud tradition of musical excellence has been afforded the students of Pleasant Valley High School with a motto of quality regardless of quantity.

The band program serves students in grades 7-12 and consists of Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Concert Band and Marching Band.  The concert band performs for the Veteran’s Day program each November as well as formal Christmas and Spring Concerts and Graduation each May.  Additionally, the concert band participates in the Alabama Bandmasters Association District and State Concert Band Festival each year.  The marching band competes in numerous festivals and parades throughout the year as well serving as an ambassador for the school within the state and community through performance.

Students of Pleasant Valley Band regularly compete in individual competition, earning numerous superior ratings and awards.  Many Pleasant Valley Band graduates continue their music education at the collegiate level, some of whom receive scholarships.  Each year the Pleasant Valley Band Boosters award a $1,000.00 scholarship to help further the education of a graduating band senior.
