Pam Smith
Director of Bands
Pam Smith is in her twenty-sixth year as band director at Pleasant Valley High School in Jacksonville, Alabama. Ms. Smith, a native of Walker County, Alabama and a graduate of Cordova High School, received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education, Masters of Science in Music Education and Educational Specialist Degree from Jacksonville State University.
Under her direction, the Pleasant Valley Band has consistently earned superior ratings at the Alabama Bandmasters Association District and State Concert Assessments, as well as numerous superior ratings and awards at marching festivals throughout the Southeast. Students under Ms. Smith’s direction have been selected to countless ABA sponsored events and numerous honor bands throughout the state.
Ms. Smith’s professional affiliations include Music Educators National Conference, Alabama Music Educators Association and Alabama Bandmasters Association. Ms. Smith is former chairman of District II of ABA and has served as treasurer of the Calhoun County Band Association for over twenty years.
